Home >Rehabilitation Counsellors assist physically, mentally and socially disadvantaged people to reintegrate into work and the community.
We support individuals in navigating vocational, relationship, social, and educational challenges. Together, we explore strategies to better understand and address emotional needs through approaches such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and other collaborative and person-centred practices.
Our team specialises in assessment, counselling, case management, service provision, and advocacy to maintain, regain, transition or improve employment/work/vocation, financial inclusion and social participation for people with injury, illness and/or disability.
Services provided
We offer a wide range of services which are all available for ages 6 years and over.
Career and vocational support
Coordination of needs to address barriers to participation and identify goals through assessments and interventions.
We work with individuals and families to help people find purpose and meaningful career opportunities.
These services include:
- Career exploration and assessments
- Job placement and development services
- Employer education and guidance
- Skills development
- Identify and recommend assistive technology or workplace accommodations.
- Career Practitioner services for people with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses
- Career and study pathway guidance / Career counselling and planning
- Work – open employment, supported employment, micro-enterprise
- Further education and training pathways – TAFE, University, Traineeships/Apprenticeships, alternate schools
- Career transition counselling
- Support for navigating complex systems and barriers

Psychosocial support
Supporting people with disability, illness or injury to access work, volunteer, or education environments through a number of services.
- Support to adjust to the impact of a disability including independent living, life care planning and counselling.
Medical management support
Work collaboratively with you and your treatment providers to develop a plan to help you achieve your health and work goals.
Advocacy support
Assist the person with a disability to exercise choice and control and to have their voice heard in matters that affect them.
Services include:
- Advocating for access to the NDIS
- Advocating for adjustments or accommodations within the workplace / educational institution including schools
- Advocating for gifted students (including twice-exceptional student i.e. gifted person who also has a disability).
WorkCover Queensland: adjustment to injury counselling
If you’ve experienced a workplace injury and are finding it difficult to adjust, our counselling service is here to support you. We help address psychological, social, cognitive, emotional, and behavioural challenges stemming from work-related incidents, with the goal of optimising your recovery and return to work.
These services include:
- Our services align with the Clinical Framework for the Delivery of Health Services, ensuring a professional and client-centred approach to your rehabilitation”.
- Initial Consultation: We’ll take the time to understand your situation through history-taking, assessment, and tailored goal setting. Together, we’ll plan strategies to help you recover and return to work with clear expectations and achievable steps.
- Ongoing Support: Receive ongoing treatment for work-related challenges, guided by your personalised treatment plan.
- Tailored goal setting and planning
- Guidance on recovery and returning to work
- Collaborative communication with your insurer and relevant parties
- Ongoing assessments and interventions to ensure progress
- If additional treatment is needed, we’ll work with you and your insurer to create a detailed plan that supports your long-term goals.

60-minute session – available to Rehabilitation Counsellors and students.

- Advocacy and support in navigating systems such as the NDIS, schools, higher education, medical, and more.
- Social, vocational, and emotional skill-building tailored for neurodivergent clients.

- Services for neurodivergent individuals including autism (ASD), dyslexia, dyscalculia, developmental coordination disorder (DCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), epilepsy, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and tourette syndrome (TS)
- Assistance with understanding and managing co-occurring conditions for neurodivergent individuals, such as hypermobility (HSD/EDS), FND, MCAS, POTS, dysautonomia and related challenges in work and everyday life.
